Hobby weekend

Hello

Hobby wise not much has happened this week. But this weekend however, I got some time over and spent it on painting. The painting goals I had for last month did not happen - safe to say. xD But today and yesterday I at least finished of the plaguebearers (and get all the material I need to make a painting guide ^^), 10 bloodletters, the last pink horror (one sneaky one had hidden - noticed after finishing the other ones that there were only nine of them) and gotten started on the Herald of Khorne.

I love that I chose to speed paint my daemons. I get to feel that I have accomplished something when it comes to painting and not just paint one models a week or whatever. Also playing with/against painted modes is way better than against/with grey ones. =)

Hobby time!

Hello!

Today I started my day with reading the new White Dwarf. Yes, I know that most people I talk to do not like the White Dwarf very much but I have to say that after they redid it and released to iPads then it really has improved. I very much like how I can look at many of the models and be able to zoom in and rotate them. That's by far the best part!
Anyways, I was looking through the new range of High Elves, quite impressed with some of the releases - especially the phoenixes. Those are the kind of models that I'd buy just to assemble and paint, even though I don't play the army itself. Only thing that was a let down with the release was the lack of troops...cause really those look horrible. I hope they redo them in a second wave!
Looking through the magazine ignited quite the hobby spark. I just wanted to sit down and paint, Lots! So I picked up my poor unfinished Pink Horros and gave them their very last details and some bases:

Ofc I now also realize that I forgot to give them neat looking eyes. But I'm gonna say that they are done anyways! ;) I'll fix that when I get back home =)

At the same time I tried out a new paintscheme for my Plaguebearers. I wanted to see if I could do them in just washes, like I did the herald, cause it would be fun with a unit that looks a little different from the ones I already have. So when I had done my first one I thought: yeah, this looks good! Hence I continued to paint all of them like that:

The first one is just to give a better view of the skintone cause it wasn't really showing on the groupshot. I must say I'm quite pleased with the result and now I have only to make their weapons, eyes and other tiny details and then they'll be all done. Really quick! Think it took me, including the time I had to wait for them to dry, like 2 hours. Good speed paint result ^^

So all in all, the time I spent at home with all my paints = a really productive day! Awesome! =)

Also here's the videolog I did the other day:

Hope you have a great evening!!

Working on a new paint guide...

Hello

So after I made the how to paint for the broadside I got a comment on youtube saying I should make another one, but something bigger. So I thought why not a Hammerhead? It might be a good evening activity. ^^
But I have never really painted a tank before and I don't have an airbrush so I'm gonna have to make one heck of a paint job for it to have a smooth surface and look neat! Challenge accepted! ;)

So today I tried out making patterns on a random piece of terrain that I had at home. I know the colors are all wrong, I just wanted to see what it would look like. The technique itself, of making patterns that is, I'm quite pleased with. =) I think with some more practice it might look nice! Lucky for me I have lots of random pieces lying around that I can practice on before covering a hammerhead in marking tape and going bananas! ^^
Here's what the first try looked like:

Not to shabby ;)

Now I'm gonna start working on a videolog to do later tonight!

Anyways - have a nice day =)

How to paint a Broadside

Hello peeps

Here's the How to paint guide for the Broadside. Granted I have already posted it on youtube a few days earlier but anyways:

I know I have been absent - have had a few things that needed taking care of and so hobbying was left on the shelf for a few days. But hopefully all done now!
Yesterday I played a really quick game against Tau. I say quick cause it was over sooo fast. My daemons were sent back into the warp faster than I could say: Blood for the blood god. Worst ever xD But it was a stoke of luck for the Tau player and some bad luck on my part so I can't say for sure that I hate Tau just yet ^^Need a rematch. And I also need for him to finish painting them soon so that I can show you when I WIN (ah yes, sweet revenge I shall have!)
I decided to go with 2 groups of plaguebearers (10), 10 bloodletters, 10 daemonettes, 20 pink horrors, 3 screamers, Pinky (soul grinder), 1 herald of nurgle and 1 herald of slaanesh. Basically I just wanted to field all my troops xD It was an awesome feeling with all those daemons on 1000p, even if I did loose ^^

I hope you all have been getting some more hobby time in than I have! =)

Cheers

Broadside

yay it's finally done! With a base and everything ^^ No I just have to take some better pictures tomorrow and get started on the tutorial :)

Tiny break

Hello

Yes you guessed it I was on a tiny break for a few days. Been spending time with friends and painting the Broadside - the lining took way longer than I had anticipated, not really used to doing lining so I guess that's why ^^

It turned out neatly anyways:

Now all that's left to do is to give it a very neat little base! Since I am making this for someone he does have specific requirements and so I have to wait for him to tell me how to use weathering powders and other scenic stuff before I can finish it off. Might be today but most likely tomorrow :)

This weekend I was supposed to have played Warhammer with my friends but we ended up trying out Super Dungeon Explore. It's a board game made by Sodapop miniatures and it's really good! We ended up playing it three times instead of doing anything else x)

Also I went to GW to be in that painting competition I talked about earlier:

Sorry it's just a crappy photo from my camera. There was quite a few entires actually! And so many neat ones! ^^
I did win one category though! With my 20 saurus warriors from my very non-finished Lizardmen army. Granted it was only mine and one more entry but it was still fun ^^ Also I placed third in 40K squads. With my Nurglings! Glorious! ^^ All in all it was really fun entering and seeing more than my own models for a change. Now I have to find a model to work on for a year so I can enter it and win a category with more than one other competitor! ^^ Wonder which one would be the most fun..hmm...

And oh yeah, before I forget, the very last part:

Cheers

More tau

Hi

Time for more Tau stuff! Surprise!

Today I'll be making my last video for the Tau review. Kinda sad, now I have to wait for another codex to come out to do a new one! But seeing as it seems the next release from GW seems to be High Elves well then that could be a while.

Anyways, the Broadside is coming along just fine!

Though I was a tad sloppy with the dark lining so I'm gonna have to redo some parts! I mean after all it's not my broadside so I have to make it look like his - and damn that one looks good! x) When the broadside is done I'll post a picture of both of them so you can see what I mean ^^

Speaking of neat looking models! Yesterday I went to Gothenburg and the local GW store. They're hosting a local painting competition called the Fang and I figured I'd entered. Maybe I should have checked the competition out before doing that though...heh...ah well, you never know until you try no? :)
I entered Pinky, Kairos, 6 nurglings and the herald of nurgle for 40K and my slann, 20 saurus warriors and a skink priest for the fantasy part. My daemon shelf feels a bit empty now that they are away on a trip. :/ But they'll be back tomorrow so it's not for long :)

Now I'm off to be productive!
Have a nice day

Tau Troops

Hello

So yesterday i finished of the review for troops, dedicated transport and marker lights:

Also I finished reading through all of the lore in the codex. It was very well written I must say! I haven't read the lore in the old codex but maybe I should do that too...
I love how they make Tau sound like a super nice race that only work for the greater good. It even made me think that they were still nice, even when killing of those that didn't share their view. Sneaky!

Also painted some on the broadside yesterday:

It's coming along just fine I think :)
Even though I don't really like Tau, I find their models to be a little too bulky and boring, the models are really nice to paint! The lining is killing me but the result looks good, even after only a few layers. ^^

Hopefully I will get some more layers on it later this afternoon. Aiming to have it done alongside the reviews. ^^

Tau Review - HQs part 2/2

Morning!

This will just be a quick update:

Hope you like it ^^

Tau HQ part 1

Hello

So here's the first part of the HQs for Tau - gonna start working on part two later tonight. :)

Yesterday I picked up my friends Broadside so now I have assembled it and it's ready for its first layer of paint :) Hopefully I will have time to do that too today!!
Have read through half of the lore for Tau so far and i must say it's very well written. Though yet I have not had the urge to convert to Tau - to little chaos ;)

The first Tau video

Hello :)

So yesterday I made my first Tau review (out of several).

I know that I'm always one step behind with uploading them to the blog, at least it will feel that way if you're in the same time zone, or close to it, cause I upload them during the night so they'll always be up the next day, if one is not from US. ^^

Today I'm planning on a nice and quite sunday with the Tau codex in one hand and some snacks in the other. ^^
Gonna make the first (since I'm guessing I won't be able to cover all of the HQ:s in on video) HQ video today - everyday will be packed with so much new content, for myself, that I'll have to try really hard not to convert to Tau. I really like new stuff and it's hard not to feel tempted to try new stuff out to and not just talk about it!
Also I've decided to "borrow" a Broadside from my friend, paint it up and make a tutorial. Though it has to be the way he wishes since it's not mine so it will be traditionally orange (not my first choice had I had an army of my own but nice enough ^^).'

So have a nice Sunday! :)

Tau time!

Morning! :)

Soon time for me to go down to the "local" GW store and pick up my copy of the Tau codex. :D

Oh, it's gonna be so much fun. This will be like when I did the one for Dark Angels - aka. I have no idea whatsoever what it'll be like. Exciting! ^^
Gonna get the old codex from a friend today too so that I have a comparison of what it was like before. Lots of reading today in other words. :) Aiming to do a "what has changed" video later tonight :)

Also gonna make sure to pick up some new glues and paints and stuff. I hate when I run out because I don't visit the store very often!

more painting...

Evening

Here's a quick painting update:

Have kept on painting today. Got really motivated with the painting goals and everything so now I have started on the Undead Blood Bowl team - this it an almost finished zombie. I have done 4 of them now. Only thing I have left is the hair and I can't figure out  good way to do it so I'll just leave it for now. I do that every now and then, if I can't figure a detail out I leave it and come back to it later on.

Thinking of painting some more now but this time the Pink Horrors, they are so close to done, don't  know why I just stopped. :/

Anyways, have a nice evening :)

Back from the holidays

Evening ^^

So I'm back from the holidays! ^^ I had a great time in Stockholm. Haven't been there for quite some time and it was nice with some change of location
Here's the latest v-log:

Today I finished of the Blood Bowl team :D

I quite like how they turned out, specially the bone :) And now they are going up on ebay and I'm gonna get started on the Undead team. Yay, first out of three paint goals. Or perhaps more if I just list all of my daemons that I have left to paint...

Pink Horrors x 10 (almost done)
Plaguebearers x10
Bloodletters x10
Herald of Khorne
Herald of Slaanesh
Herald on Bloodcrusher
Bloodcrushers x 3
Plaguedrones x3
Exatled chariot of Tzeentch with herald
The Masque
Nurgle Plague Hulk

damn...just saying "all daemons" felt way easier...! Oh well, I'l give it a good try! ^^

Off to bed now - have a nice evening ^^

Updates

Evenin'

So first off here's the videolog I did yesterday:

And today I have been painting some:

I'm really liking how they're turning out - specially the bone. Which in itself sucks cause now I have to redo three of the other guys that I did like half a year ago because it doesn't look at all as nice x)

God I'm in the mood to play Warhammer and my Daemons - sucks that you need a co-player sometimes! Last game was so much fun! As I said in the video it went really great.
Here's the list I used:

Daemon Prince with mark of Tzeentch, wings and a lv 2 psyker. (also a greater reward that gave his c.c. attacks instant death and an other one giving the attacks fleshbane/armorbane)
Herald of Nurgle, psyker lv 2 and the locus that gives feel no pain
Herald of Tzeentch, psyker lv 2
Herald of Khorne with a greater reward

10 Daemonettes with unit champion
10 Bloodletters with unit champion, icon
10 Plaguebearers with unit champion, icon
20 Pink Horros with unit champion, icon and instrument

Burning Chariot of Tzeentch
Pinky with phlegm and daemon of Nurgle

3 Screamers
3 Flamers

In total 1500p

My poor daemon prince, that I thought would devour some of the nasty terminators he lost two wounds to the nephilim hetfighter and was grounded, taking another wound and then was shot and killed. And I was about to charge with him in the next round. Stroke of bad luck...but the the Herald of Nurgle and the Daemonettes stepped up their game and did awesome! The screamers did absolutely nothing, nor the flamers cause they were killed instantly (old habits die hard for my opponent it seemed).
And so now I wanna go again! With all of my darlin' daemons :)

Cheers

batrep

Hello :)

So it's monday...awesome! or something like that...
Anyhow I finished of a battle reports and uploaded those before I left town last week and here it is:

part one

part two

I very much enjoyed this game, sure I lost but the it gave me some practice for playing daemons and using all of their new rules and we already know about some of the mistakes we made so that's good progress! Also it made me realize that I'm most likely not gonna be able to field this kind of small troops cause they die too quickly, thus I will most likely need 20 in each unit. Hoping that I'll have some money left at the end of the month so that I can buy some more. Was thinking of buying the old daemonettes from eBay or something cause I think they look way better than the new ones!

Anyways I'm off to make a video log so I'll post it here tomorrow as well! ^^ Feels good to be a little productive at least!

Cheers

Exalted flamer

Hiya! :)

First off here's my latest videolog:

And second off - it's almost outdated already! :)
Today I got home from a visit to my family and I went over to the "work bench" and looked at my exlated flamer and for the first time since I got it I felt like this was a good day to paint it. Been thinking about a color scheme and have been leaning towards a darker one seeing as the ordinary flamers in my army are bright and I really don't like that look - also those are amongst the ugliest things I have ever painted! x)
Anyhow I've been having lots of second thoughts about the flamer but I got started and after 35 minutes of painting he was almost done. I've never been that efficient in my life!
This is what he looked like at first:

I then though for a little while about the flames. My first thought when seeing this models after it was leaked is that it looked really horrible with lots of different colors and so forth. And then I also remember thinking; shouldn't the flames be off the same color as the flamer? It looked so messy - so I decided to to just that:

When finished with the flames I though about the profile of the exalted flamer; it has both pink and blue fire of tzeentch, and since mine were already blue, why not add some pink:

When that was done I was so pleased with the result I had to do the screamer part of the chariot as well! ^^ I wanted them to look as my other screamers do so that was fairly easy.

Tomorrow I'm planning on finishing it off completely, with the last remaining details and the base, on which the flamer stands - haven't spray painted that yet so couldn't start on it today. But I will! And it will be glorious! Hoping to have it finished so that I can use it this weekend in the campaign - hard to play with a model in several pieces. ^^

Cheers

monday morning...

Morning!

Yay monday - best day of the week!
Jokes aside, yesterday was a glorious day! I was (am) so tired of hearing my own voice after the review series and seeing as it was sunday and I had nothing planned I let it stay that way. So I turned of my phone and computer  and spent the day painting, playing video games and sleeping. Awesome! ^^
Hence I have now finished of my daemonettes:

and gotten started on some Nurglings:

The herald also received some more layers of paint but its nothing really remarkable - you'll just get to see him when he's all done. :)

Here's also the last video for the daemons codex:

Have a nice monday!

fast attack: daemons

Evenin'

So my friends basically just left, we've been playing a 3000p game. Tried out the new daemons rules and it went "meh" - always takes me a few games to remember all the rules and make the appropriate decisions.  Also realized that I need to get me some new troops because groups of 10 were way to small! But mohahaha, even though you can't really hold up terminators in c.c. anymore with plagubearers I had to cause they contested me for an objective and we stood in c.c. for three rounds. I  rolled like a GOD on the instability test and lost 1-2 models per round and finally winning the c.c. with only the herald (1/2 wounds) left standing *daemonic smile*.

Here's the fast attack video I made yesterday:

And here's also the improved picture (aka daylight) of my daemonettes:

I'm actually thinking that I'm not gonna improve the claws because when looking at them today on the battlefield they looked nice so really no need to change :) Also the rest of my army is speed painted so I don't feel the need for them to be any better - it would make the rest of my daemons jealous. ;)

painting daemonettes

Evenin'

So I'm sitting here waiting for my project to finalize so that I can upload it to youtube (always takes for ever so I do it during the night). I'm almost (god so slow) finished with the group of 6 daemonettes I've been working on. Here's a crappy late night picture:

I've been having some issues with the choice of colors. I really dislike daemonettes - and I mean really! I think the models are ugly and the grayish/purple colors that I've so far seen on them makes them look more like disease ridden nurgle units rather than alluring daemons. Hence I decided to go for a more porcelain like color (still with purple though) - i think it turned out quite nicely actually. I am still torn when it comes to the claws though cause I don't want them to look like daemonettes usually do - in a completely different color than the skin - but I still want them to "pop" seeing as they are cool rending claws! Decisions, decisions! ^^

This was my, "trying to stay awake while project finalizes", update and I'll make sure to upload better pictures tomorrow. :)

//Sara

Moooore daemons :)

Ello!

So here are the new videos for Codex: Chaos Daemons

I have painted a little bit, but not at all as much as I had hoped - yesterday I had a bad painting day. Ever had one of those? For me it starts out with not feeling satisfied with something, like the blend or a color choice. And then I end up thinking about that too much and not paying attention to all the other things on the model - resulting in lots of sloppy mistakes. Usually by then I just give up on painting and leave it for a better day - like today :D The sun is shining here today so I actually have some decent lighting even in the afternoon :)
Also I have to make a new video and start building a list for this weekend! I'm gonna team up with CSMs and together we're gonna crush the imperium (imperial guard and dark angels) in the campaign! 3000p in total so 1500 each. And I son't even know what all the units do anymore x) So much fun stuff but so little time - story of my life! x)

How to paint Deathwing

Hello again!

Almost forgot - here's the "how to paint" guide that I did for Deathwing a few days ago:

This is the first painting tutorial I've done for Youtube purposes - originally it was meant to be just for this blog, like the one for stone terrain I did the last time but there were so many pictures that it was easier this way. :)
I'm hopin in the future that I will be able to make recorded guides but at the moment I don't have all the equipment (or the time, way easier to paint every now and then and take a picture) to do so. So this is what you get for now. I hope you like it! :D

Codex reviews, so far...

Here are the reviews I've done for the Chaos Daemons codex so far:

Heralds

Greater Daemons

Psychic powers & Warlord Traits

Army Rules

I promise I'll be better at updating this blog . Expect lots of painting updates in the near future :D

Daemons

Hello!

So, the daemons are out! And here! I have been spending all my spare time on making videos and assembling/painting the models. So now I have assembled (except the second chariot, finishing the one with the flamer first) everything I bought:

As you can see the Hearld Nurgle is well on his way - I have also given some of the Daemonettes their first layer of skin tone and a wash. I'm hoping to have finished at least 5 Deamonettes or the herald today.  Mostly because I want to start on the other models as well and I want them all to be finished so as to make a battle report with them and their new rules! :)

Other than that, if you only come here and not my Youtube channel there are some new videos out now, mostly of me going through the new codex for the daemons. Actually, you know what, I'll just make a new entry for those right after this one. ^^

Long time ago...

Hi

It feels like I haven't given you an update in ages! :o

Here's a videolog about the new Daemons release:

Other than that (for the campaign) - I was so certain that I'd written that: after that battle between the Necrons and Dark Angels we played two more sets of games the day after. But I didn't! Must have erased it somehow...
Nonetheless - for those two battle I did not take any pictures cause I was busy running through a couple of practice games with the Necron player. But the first game was Chaos Space Marines against Dark Angels - that was assulted via Deepstrike and in the end the DA player won and thus not loosing any flags.
After that it was the DA players turn and he chose to assult the Tyranids, that had just placed their flags, and made a striking victory, taking over a tile.

Overall in the campaing the Imperial players - aka the Crusade of Fire - are the only ones that have taken over tiles. We're still missing the Space Wolves player and both he, the tyranid player and I have yet to challenge other players. I'm thinking of trying to take back my Hive City though that will most likely happen after the new codex has been released.  :)

With that I wish you a good evening :)

Necrons vs. Dark Angels battle report

Hello :)

So the second battle of the day (saturday that is) was a game of Planetstrike!

As for armies:

Dark Angels:

1 Librarian
1 Tactical Squad of 5 with 1 plasma cannon
1 Tactical Squad of 5 with 1 plasma gun and 1 vet.serg with chainsword
5 Deathwing Knights
1 Whirlwind
1 Nephilim Jetfighter
1 Venerable Dreadnought with t.l lascannon and heavy flamer

Necrons:

1 Triarch Stalker
1 Annihilation Barge
10 Immortals with gauss blasters
10 Immortals with tesla carbines
10 Necron Warriors
1 Anrakyr the Traveler
1 Necron Overlord

Necrons assaulted Dark Angels so he got to deploy the terrain and decide from where all the non-deepstriking stuff would enter.  He choose the far end - further for the Necrons to walk. Here's the initial deployment - right before the "firestorm" took place -the Necrons made a total of 9 firestorm bombings but only two casualties occurred - two space marines.  Lots of scatters and lots of saves! :)

Round 1

After the deployment  and the bombardment the game began and Necrons took first turn - deep striking all but the Annihilation Barge and the Triarch Stalker.  The deep stike was successful, except for one mishap returning the warriors to reserves.

After that they just moved forwards, no shooting, seeing as they wanted to get a little bit closer and ran.
The Dark Angels players then deepstuck the death wing knights and in the shooting phase nothing really happened cause all wounds were saved.

Round 2

The second turn the Necron player forgot to move her things - she got so exited when her warriors made a perfect hit right next the Dreadnought she fired straight away at the Dreadnought, no wounds. Also one Deathwing Knight was shot dead.
The Dreadnought then turned around and used it's heavy flamer and toghether with the Nephilim Jetfighter that entered from reserves, killed of the entire squad of warriors. The Tactical Squads tried to hit some Immortals as well but they kept rising and none were killed.
The Deathwing knight moved back towards the original deployment zone for the Dark Angels seeing as they deepstruck a little far off.

Round  3

The Necrons made some nice shooting in their turn, killing of  all but one space marine and the librarian in the bastion as well as taking one hull point of the Dreadnought with a glancing hit. The two groups of immortals moved toward the bastion.
The dark Angels then retaliated - but almost all of the Necrons rose again. The remaining space marine and librarian moved from the bastion toward the other building to stay out of l.o.s.The Nephilim Jetfighter came back in but failed all it's shooting attacks. The Dreadnought shot and immobilized the Triarch Stalker and the knights moved up to try and make an ambush on the Immortals by the bastion.

Round 4

Here we're gonna have a nice round up: four three more rounds - up til 7, the Necrons kept rising, the Dark Angels kept saving and it was a status-quo so to speak. In the 7th round the Necrons moved up to contest the mansion as well as the other grey scrap building whilst keeping close to the bastion . The Necrons were then out of luck and killed off one by one during the Dark Angels last shooting and close combat  phase so the immortals were in the end to far from the mansion as well as the scrap building. The Dark Angels thus won with 2 to 1.

Honestly,  wasn't the most exciting game of my life due to the status quo, but with that said I'm still amazed(!) by the amounts of saves made by the Dark Angels , the reanimation for the Necrons, as well as some really unfortunate shooting - the Whirlwind did almost nothing to thin the ranks of the Necrons.
The Dreadnought  - now named Kalle - was the star of the battlefield! He killed of Immortals, Warriors, the Annihilation Barge, immobilized the Triarch Stalker and was still alive at round 7.

Hope you liked it!
And have a nice day/night!

Hive City Challenge

Hello :)

So this weekend we got together and got started on the campaign. We started by placing 5 flags and rolling for our Grand Warlord Traits - I can't tell you mine though cause we decided to keep them secret so that it would be more of a challenge ^^ The only ones that know are the GMs (me - mehehe, I know All the secrets, and the IG player) so that no one will cheat!

The chaos space marine player and I chose to take over as many Hive Cities as possible just cause we could - chaos chooses tiles first - and cause they have some nice bonuses in the campaign itself.  This is an initial picture from saturday - on sunday the Tyranids player came over and put his flags on the same planet as the DA player. I know it's hard to see - it'll be better when the tiles are actually painted. Sigh, I really need to get myself an airbrush...

Anyhow, the IG player also placed his flags onto the bigger planet and he rolled to go first so he challenged me for one of my Hive Cities. We decided on 1750p cause that's basically all the points I have for Daemons and he then allied the DA player with him to try and take me down...

Our units were:

Chaos Daemons

Fateweaver as HQ
10 Plaugebearers with noxious touch and icon
10 Bloodletters  with mark of khorne and icon
5 Pink horrors with bolt of chaos and instrument
4 Pink horrors with bolt of chaos + the changeling

Since this was a City fight we just put out as much terrain as possible. Unfortunately I haven't assembled my Fortress of Redemption yet otherwise that would have been in there as well. The more terrain the better if you ask me - even though I hate deep striking into it, it looks awesome ^^

Anyways, since it was City fight the deep striking rule does not apply - I gave out one huge sigh of relief when I found out cause there was noooo way that I would have lived through deep striking on to that battle board. Instead I got to start with my entire army placed on the board - felt really weird and I kept wanting to reach for a dice and roll for reserves when new turns began.

Here's the initial deployment:

We deployed in a quadrant each. Also we chose 3 stratagems each - like for example when deployed in the Sky Shield Landing pad the IG player had one that made him reroll all failed to hits when shooting, and so did I, in the Bastion, though we forgot about them after the first turn! So much battle going on there was no time to remember advantages! ;) Though the IG player put out some barbed razor-wire that served as difficult terrain and of course he placed it around my stuff - smart move indeed ^^
The whole point of the game was to score points for the amount of buildings being held - aka objectives - they could only by held by ordinary scoring units and non of the new victory points, like slay the warlord, counted. We agreed that out of the terrain on the board 7 of them counted as buildings.

The IG player took first turn - shot and mostly focused fire on my Soul Grinder, henceforth referred to as Pinky. He took a total of 2 hull points.
He moved towards the bastion with two infantry squads and the librarian that had joined one of the units. The space marines with the plasma cannon, on the top floor of the Shrine, moved to get in firing range of my daemons and to easily hold the building whilst  the other squad of 5 marines moved toward the yellow mansion to do the same.

In my turn I moved onward with almost all of my things except the pink horrors. Made some okayish shooting on the blob of 20 near the bastion after moving Pinky out of l.o.s from the Basilisk and one of my Daemons Princes, along side the Screamers, flew off to try and assault some stuff further in the back as well as flaming at some Veterans, killing almost half of them. Kairos stayed behind to help out with as many saving throws as possible.
My other Daemon Prince, for the first time equipped with Pavane of Slannesh, made the Deathwing Knights dance out from cover and in range of all my flamers who otherwise would have missed so that was a stroke of luck! Both them and the Daemons Prince then fired with their Breaths of chaos but killed only two.

In turn two the IG player shot and killed one of the Plaugebearers and also strategically took over the bastion as well as the house next to it with the Platoon Command Squad. He also deep stuck with Storm Trooper carrying melta guns next to Pinky and Storm Troopers with plasma guns next to my Nurglings, aiming for my Pink Horrors initially, to kill of as many troops as possible. He also shot two of my  Screamers to death as well as one Bloodletter. He shot Pinky who re-rolled his save, thanks to Kairos, and was lucked out with one less hp and immobilized.

The Deathwing Knights then charged my Daemon Prince, who survived the first run of combat taking a total of two wounds.

In my turn the Flamers moved back and killed all the Storm Troopers next to Pinky and some guardsmen were put out by Pinkys blast - but the bastion gave them a 4+ cover save and so not as many died as I had hoped. The Screamer flew towards the Basilisk and the Daemon Prince of to the far right flew over to the Skyshield Landing Pad and killed two guys in the command squad with his template. The Plaugebearers made a nice assault range roll and charged into the Knights, holding them up in close combat so they were out of the picture until round 5.

Third turn Pinky exploded, the Daemon Prince was killed by the Knights, 1 of the pink horror Groups were shot to pieces - but one pink horror made his save gloriously and so stood next to the IG to hold on to the objective. The remaining Daemon Prince took a wound but did not crash. The Basilisk and the Space Marines in the yellow mansion shot at the Bloodletters and wiped the entire unit.
In my round the Daemon Prince landed and flamed before assaulting into the Command Squad. Kairos also moved up,  seeing as it was no use for him to hang around the standstill close combat between the Plaugebearers and the Knights, and made a failed attempt at shooting. The last remaining Storm Troopers were first shot by the 4 remaining Pink Horror, then assaulted by the Nurglings and killed. The Screamer having avoided overwatch assaulted in to the Basilisk, made it explode and then consolidated away.

Turn 4 the Daemon Prince was shot at but survived, as did Kairos.
In my turn Kairos landed and used his Breath of chaos on some unfortunate guardsmen whilst the Daemon Prince killed the Company Commander and his squad by first shooting and then assaulting.
I my turn the Flamers moved up to try and gets some shots on the Platoon Command Squad in the building but could only see two and so could not kill them all…

Round 5 the flamers were shot dead, as well as the last screamer, and the close combat ended as the Plaugebearers finally killed of the last remaining Knight and then consolidate towards the closest vacant building.
Karios then flew over to the Shrine, to try and take out the Space Marines, or at least contest it. The Daemon Prince killed of the remaining Heavy Weapons team.

We then rolled for the game to end, and it did.
In the end the IG player still held the Bastion as well as two other building whilst I only had two so he won the game and took over my Hive City.

It was a fair fight and we were never really sure of us who was going to win. Had the game lasted another turn I probably have contested one other building as well but I was not so fortunate. Hence I lost my first flag to the Imperium (oh the shame!).

I'll post another battle report tomorrow for a game of Planet Strike :)

Have a nice day!
