Long time ago...

Hi

It feels like I haven't given you an update in ages! :o

Here's a videolog about the new Daemons release:

Other than that (for the campaign) - I was so certain that I'd written that: after that battle between the Necrons and Dark Angels we played two more sets of games the day after. But I didn't! Must have erased it somehow...
Nonetheless - for those two battle I did not take any pictures cause I was busy running through a couple of practice games with the Necron player. But the first game was Chaos Space Marines against Dark Angels - that was assulted via Deepstrike and in the end the DA player won and thus not loosing any flags.
After that it was the DA players turn and he chose to assult the Tyranids, that had just placed their flags, and made a striking victory, taking over a tile.

Overall in the campaing the Imperial players - aka the Crusade of Fire - are the only ones that have taken over tiles. We're still missing the Space Wolves player and both he, the tyranid player and I have yet to challenge other players. I'm thinking of trying to take back my Hive City though that will most likely happen after the new codex has been released.  :)

With that I wish you a good evening :)

Necrons vs. Dark Angels battle report

Hello :)

So the second battle of the day (saturday that is) was a game of Planetstrike!

As for armies:

Dark Angels:

1 Librarian
1 Tactical Squad of 5 with 1 plasma cannon
1 Tactical Squad of 5 with 1 plasma gun and 1 vet.serg with chainsword
5 Deathwing Knights
1 Whirlwind
1 Nephilim Jetfighter
1 Venerable Dreadnought with t.l lascannon and heavy flamer

Necrons:

1 Triarch Stalker
1 Annihilation Barge
10 Immortals with gauss blasters
10 Immortals with tesla carbines
10 Necron Warriors
1 Anrakyr the Traveler
1 Necron Overlord

Necrons assaulted Dark Angels so he got to deploy the terrain and decide from where all the non-deepstriking stuff would enter.  He choose the far end - further for the Necrons to walk. Here's the initial deployment - right before the "firestorm" took place -the Necrons made a total of 9 firestorm bombings but only two casualties occurred - two space marines.  Lots of scatters and lots of saves! :)

Round 1

After the deployment  and the bombardment the game began and Necrons took first turn - deep striking all but the Annihilation Barge and the Triarch Stalker.  The deep stike was successful, except for one mishap returning the warriors to reserves.

After that they just moved forwards, no shooting, seeing as they wanted to get a little bit closer and ran.
The Dark Angels players then deepstuck the death wing knights and in the shooting phase nothing really happened cause all wounds were saved.

Round 2

The second turn the Necron player forgot to move her things - she got so exited when her warriors made a perfect hit right next the Dreadnought she fired straight away at the Dreadnought, no wounds. Also one Deathwing Knight was shot dead.
The Dreadnought then turned around and used it's heavy flamer and toghether with the Nephilim Jetfighter that entered from reserves, killed of the entire squad of warriors. The Tactical Squads tried to hit some Immortals as well but they kept rising and none were killed.
The Deathwing knight moved back towards the original deployment zone for the Dark Angels seeing as they deepstruck a little far off.

Round  3

The Necrons made some nice shooting in their turn, killing of  all but one space marine and the librarian in the bastion as well as taking one hull point of the Dreadnought with a glancing hit. The two groups of immortals moved toward the bastion.
The dark Angels then retaliated - but almost all of the Necrons rose again. The remaining space marine and librarian moved from the bastion toward the other building to stay out of l.o.s.The Nephilim Jetfighter came back in but failed all it's shooting attacks. The Dreadnought shot and immobilized the Triarch Stalker and the knights moved up to try and make an ambush on the Immortals by the bastion.

Round 4

Here we're gonna have a nice round up: four three more rounds - up til 7, the Necrons kept rising, the Dark Angels kept saving and it was a status-quo so to speak. In the 7th round the Necrons moved up to contest the mansion as well as the other grey scrap building whilst keeping close to the bastion . The Necrons were then out of luck and killed off one by one during the Dark Angels last shooting and close combat  phase so the immortals were in the end to far from the mansion as well as the scrap building. The Dark Angels thus won with 2 to 1.

Honestly,  wasn't the most exciting game of my life due to the status quo, but with that said I'm still amazed(!) by the amounts of saves made by the Dark Angels , the reanimation for the Necrons, as well as some really unfortunate shooting - the Whirlwind did almost nothing to thin the ranks of the Necrons.
The Dreadnought  - now named Kalle - was the star of the battlefield! He killed of Immortals, Warriors, the Annihilation Barge, immobilized the Triarch Stalker and was still alive at round 7.

Hope you liked it!
And have a nice day/night!

Hive City Challenge

Hello :)

So this weekend we got together and got started on the campaign. We started by placing 5 flags and rolling for our Grand Warlord Traits - I can't tell you mine though cause we decided to keep them secret so that it would be more of a challenge ^^ The only ones that know are the GMs (me - mehehe, I know All the secrets, and the IG player) so that no one will cheat!

The chaos space marine player and I chose to take over as many Hive Cities as possible just cause we could - chaos chooses tiles first - and cause they have some nice bonuses in the campaign itself.  This is an initial picture from saturday - on sunday the Tyranids player came over and put his flags on the same planet as the DA player. I know it's hard to see - it'll be better when the tiles are actually painted. Sigh, I really need to get myself an airbrush...

Anyhow, the IG player also placed his flags onto the bigger planet and he rolled to go first so he challenged me for one of my Hive Cities. We decided on 1750p cause that's basically all the points I have for Daemons and he then allied the DA player with him to try and take me down...

Our units were:

Chaos Daemons

Fateweaver as HQ
10 Plaugebearers with noxious touch and icon
10 Bloodletters  with mark of khorne and icon
5 Pink horrors with bolt of chaos and instrument
4 Pink horrors with bolt of chaos + the changeling
3 Nurglings
1 Pinky the Soul Grinder
1 Daemon Pince with mark of slaanesh, pavane of slaanesh, wings  and breath of chaos
1 Daemon prince with wings, mark of tzeench and breath of chaos
3 Screamers
3 Flamers

Imperial Guard

1 Company Command Squad with a master of ordnance, voxcaster, standard, laspistol and plasma gun
10 Veterans with 3 melta guns
1 Storm Trooper squad of 10 with 2 meltaguns
1 Storm Trooper squad of 10 with 2 plasma guns
1 Infantry Platoon with 3 Infantry Squads, 1 Heavy Weapons teams with 3 auto cannons and a Platoon Command Squad with standard, vox, plasma gun and a commander with power sword and laspistol.
1 Basilisk

Dark Angels allies:

5 Space marines with bolt guns and 1 plasma cannon
4 Space marines with bolt guns, 1 plasma gun and 1 serg. with chainsword
5 Deathwing Knights
1 Librarian

total of 1750p.

Since this was a City fight we just put out as much terrain as possible. Unfortunately I haven't assembled my Fortress of Redemption yet otherwise that would have been in there as well. The more terrain the better if you ask me - even though I hate deep striking into it, it looks awesome ^^

Anyways, since it was City fight the deep striking rule does not apply - I gave out one huge sigh of relief when I found out cause there was noooo way that I would have lived through deep striking on to that battle board. Instead I got to start with my entire army placed on the board - felt really weird and I kept wanting to reach for a dice and roll for reserves when new turns began.

Here's the initial deployment:

We deployed in a quadrant each. Also we chose 3 stratagems each - like for example when deployed in the Sky Shield Landing pad the IG player had one that made him reroll all failed to hits when shooting, and so did I, in the Bastion, though we forgot about them after the first turn! So much battle going on there was no time to remember advantages! ;) Though the IG player put out some barbed razor-wire that served as difficult terrain and of course he placed it around my stuff - smart move indeed ^^
The whole point of the game was to score points for the amount of buildings being held - aka objectives - they could only by held by ordinary scoring units and non of the new victory points, like slay the warlord, counted. We agreed that out of the terrain on the board 7 of them counted as buildings.

The IG player took first turn - shot and mostly focused fire on my Soul Grinder, henceforth referred to as Pinky. He took a total of 2 hull points.
He moved towards the bastion with two infantry squads and the librarian that had joined one of the units. The space marines with the plasma cannon, on the top floor of the Shrine, moved to get in firing range of my daemons and to easily hold the building whilst  the other squad of 5 marines moved toward the yellow mansion to do the same.

In my turn I moved onward with almost all of my things except the pink horrors. Made some okayish shooting on the blob of 20 near the bastion after moving Pinky out of l.o.s from the Basilisk and one of my Daemons Princes, along side the Screamers, flew off to try and assault some stuff further in the back as well as flaming at some Veterans, killing almost half of them. Kairos stayed behind to help out with as many saving throws as possible.
My other Daemon Prince, for the first time equipped with Pavane of Slannesh, made the Deathwing Knights dance out from cover and in range of all my flamers who otherwise would have missed so that was a stroke of luck! Both them and the Daemons Prince then fired with their Breaths of chaos but killed only two.

In turn two the IG player shot and killed one of the Plaugebearers and also strategically took over the bastion as well as the house next to it with the Platoon Command Squad. He also deep stuck with Storm Trooper carrying melta guns next to Pinky and Storm Troopers with plasma guns next to my Nurglings, aiming for my Pink Horrors initially, to kill of as many troops as possible. He also shot two of my  Screamers to death as well as one Bloodletter. He shot Pinky who re-rolled his save, thanks to Kairos, and was lucked out with one less hp and immobilized.

The Deathwing Knights then charged my Daemon Prince, who survived the first run of combat taking a total of two wounds.

In my turn the Flamers moved back and killed all the Storm Troopers next to Pinky and some guardsmen were put out by Pinkys blast - but the bastion gave them a 4+ cover save and so not as many died as I had hoped. The Screamer flew towards the Basilisk and the Daemon Prince of to the far right flew over to the Skyshield Landing Pad and killed two guys in the command squad with his template. The Plaugebearers made a nice assault range roll and charged into the Knights, holding them up in close combat so they were out of the picture until round 5.

Third turn Pinky exploded, the Daemon Prince was killed by the Knights, 1 of the pink horror Groups were shot to pieces - but one pink horror made his save gloriously and so stood next to the IG to hold on to the objective. The remaining Daemon Prince took a wound but did not crash. The Basilisk and the Space Marines in the yellow mansion shot at the Bloodletters and wiped the entire unit.
In my round the Daemon Prince landed and flamed before assaulting into the Command Squad. Kairos also moved up,  seeing as it was no use for him to hang around the standstill close combat between the Plaugebearers and the Knights, and made a failed attempt at shooting. The last remaining Storm Troopers were first shot by the 4 remaining Pink Horror, then assaulted by the Nurglings and killed. The Screamer having avoided overwatch assaulted in to the Basilisk, made it explode and then consolidated away.

Turn 4 the Daemon Prince was shot at but survived, as did Kairos.
In my turn Kairos landed and used his Breath of chaos on some unfortunate guardsmen whilst the Daemon Prince killed the Company Commander and his squad by first shooting and then assaulting.
I my turn the Flamers moved up to try and gets some shots on the Platoon Command Squad in the building but could only see two and so could not kill them all…

Round 5 the flamers were shot dead, as well as the last screamer, and the close combat ended as the Plaugebearers finally killed of the last remaining Knight and then consolidate towards the closest vacant building.
Karios then flew over to the Shrine, to try and take out the Space Marines, or at least contest it. The Daemon Prince killed of the remaining Heavy Weapons team.

We then rolled for the game to end, and it did.
In the end the IG player still held the Bastion as well as two other building whilst I only had two so he won the game and took over my Hive City.

It was a fair fight and we were never really sure of us who was going to win. Had the game lasted another turn I probably have contested one other building as well but I was not so fortunate. Hence I lost my first flag to the Imperium (oh the shame!).

I'll post another battle report tomorrow for a game of Planet Strike :)

Have a nice day!

Painting update

Evening :)

Gotten lots of painting done today - yay ^^

The knights are almost done now! :D Just the basing left and then somewhere I know I have forgotten some detail cause before I based them I thought; oh, yeah right, haven't done that...and then I forgot what it was. x)

Also put a base-coat of silver and a wash on ten necron warriors...it's insane, takes more time to assemble them than painting...

Regardless, got a lot of painting done, feels nice :)

Now I'm off to bed!

Night!

Paint, paint, paint...

Hi

So today it looks like I (almost) have the day off, just a couple of things need to be done - wohoo! ^^ This means I have some time to spend on painting, which is utterly needed at the moment! Sometimes I wish I could get paid to paint my own models ;)

So far we're three that can make it this  weekend to start of the campaign, two were unsure and the other two I haven't heard from yet. Not all of them have to make it, seeing as we have only two battle boards anyways, but the more the merrier ;)
Regardless I have to start assembling some bikes for the DA as well as putting at least a metal coat on some necron warriors so they don't look so boring and grey.

I'll post some pictures later of my progress ^^

Cheers

Dark Angels; Heavy Support

Evening! ^^

Here's the Heavy Support part of the Dark Angels Codex:

Today I haven't had much time to do any hobby related things though I have managed to squeeze in some painting (finally!) As far as the weekend goes I don't have any other plans then just loads of painting ^^
I really do like painting and I have been looking forward to finishing of those terminators for a while now! :D

Dark Angels Codex: Elites

Hello

Now I'm all back to normal - feels nice. I hate being sick when it means I can't do Anything at all except for eating ice cream and lying in bed for several days. :(
But that's all gone - yay! ^^ So now that I can talk again - here's the Elite entires from the Dark Angels Codex:

Tomorrow I'll most likely meet up with Colonel Krieg (yes, this is now the name for the Imperial Guard player, kudos to Tattoolov3r ^^). I made him sick as well (Papa Nurgle must love me! ) but now he's also better and up for a game.

Tomorrow I have also planned for lots of painting (I tried to paint this weekend but it was to hard cause I kept sneezing all the time, making it hard to keep the brush in check xD) and the Fast Attack section the codex :)

Have a nice evening!

Quick weekend round-up

Hello :)

I'm starting to feel a lot better! Ha! ^^

Some friends we're over last night (they actually dared) and we played some Warhammer (1250p each)
My first game was against the Imperial Guard (we rolled for it) - I lost. It was actualy over in 20 minutes after we had deployed, my quickest game of Warhammer ever played!

Here's a quick picture of the first deployment - I didn't take any more pictures after that - way to concentrated at rolling bad dice.
By turn 4 the Imperial Guard player had not suffered a single wound and had killed my Screamers, my Flamers, my Bloodletters and my Nurglings. The Soul Grinder stood heroically in the midst of all the fire power as the sole survivor turn 4 and took only 1 hull point. (And that's were my bad luck changed for the remainder of the night) then my Daemon Prince, my two groups of Pink Horrors and Kairos came in.The game ended after turn 5 though had it gone on for another 2 we figured it would most likely had been a draw since all my nasty stuff came in at the end. :( I'm not gonna lie, I was quite moody after that poor display of daemonic power but they got a second try in a game against Chaos Space Marines where they performed brilliantly! ^^
The game against Chaos Space Marines lasted for about 2 hours, a total of 7 rounds were the last two were really exciting since it was all about the objectives and even though I had dominated the entire game there we're few of my troops left standing and some of the CSMs, that Kairos chased like a mad person for 3 rounds. In the end I won but it was very even game. I like that about 6th edition, even when you have suffered major casualties you can win the game since so many scenarios are about holding objectives and scoring v.ps. so that one actually can turn it around. Makes for funnier games and less sulky opponents ^^

We played on two tables last night - trying to see it we could fit two battle boards into the apartment:

It worked just fine and that's great! Since we'll probably be more than 2 players at a time whilst doing the campaign we needed more than one table or playing games will take all day. The big black one we used before I bought the "real" battle board, still works ^^

Today I'm hoping to record a battle report though I'm not 100% it will happen - the Imperial Guard player cursed me earlier saying that he's not feeling all to well today. I did warn them... O.o

Have a nice day!
//Sara

Friday 1 February 2013

The daemons are back

Morning!

Still sound like a crow...brilliant...

Anyhow, I have had a word with the Imperial Guard played and he's painting like a mad man O.o so we're aiming for a (casual) game of 1000p.

Here's what I'm thinking:

HQ

Herald of Tzeentch

Troops:

8 Pink Horrors with bolt of chaos and the changeling
10 Plaguebearers with a chaos icon and noxious touch
10 Bloodletters with fury of khorne and a chaos icon

Elite

3 Flamers of Tzeentch

Fast

3 Screamers of Tzeentch

Heavy

1 Soul Grinder with phlegm
1 Exalted Seeker Chariot of Slaaensh

Hoping that the Phlegm will make some nice large blast hits on all the human blobs. The Plaguebearers are looking for some nice revenge since the last time they went up against Imperial Guard they misshaped and he moved them to the far edge of the table and since they're so slow they never saw any action :(
Also the Chariot has to prove itself! I have used it three times so far, none of the times it did anything useful: first time it misshaped and exploded and the other two times the opponent immobilized it and since it has no shooting it just stood there :(. Safe to say I'm not so fond of it yet so I hope it will prove more useful this weekend. Maybe I should threaten to sell it on ebay...hm...

Yesterday I mostly spent feeling sorry for myself but I did get some painting done!

I have now finished all the armor highlighting on the models and starting on all the details :D
Have a nice day!
